A Long Down Coat for the Short Winter Days

Amira have come up with yet another gorgeous take on the traditional winter coat.  There is nothing boring, stuffy or staid about this long down coat, it is full of interesting features and the slender style and shiny appearance with a glamorous fur collar would make any woman feel special on even the darkest of winter days.

To start at the top – the wide shawl-type collar of this black coat has a beautifully soft fox fur covering that just invites you to turn it up and snuggle into it to avoid the coldest weather and keep your face and ears warm – you certainly won’t need to wear a scarf when you are wearing this winter coat.

The outside shell of this black coat is made from 100% polyester which shrugs off the rain & helps to keep out the wind.  The coat filling is made from 90% duck down for softness and 10% duck feather for resilience, so that the long down coat will be warm but light to wear.  The filling is held in place by the horizontal bands of stitching, so there is no risk of the down and feather filling shifting or clumping together to allow cold patches.  The length of this long down coat is superb, being a little longer than standard, and that feature will help to protect your legs from icy cold.

The front of the down coat is closed by a concealed zip, and there are three quirky large rubber buttons on the outside. The waist of this black coat is cinched in by a broad shiny princess style elasticated leather-look belt, which maintains the slender and graceful profile of the long down coat, but also allows some freedom of movement – after all, there is snow forecast this winter, and everyone enjoys a snowball fight or building a snowman when they are wrapped up all warm and cosy in a lovely winter coat.  Even if it doesn’t snow, this black coat will be functional and fantastic in the rain.

Another neat feature of this black coat is that the sleeve ends have a similar fox fur covering to the collar, and there are two hand warmer pockets on the front of this winter coat, which is a great combination for warming up your hands and keeping them warm – you will need it after having fun out in the snow.

In fact, this winter coat is so neat and stylish, it doesn’t have to only be worn in the daytime, it could very well be worn over smart casual clothes for an evening out, not something you can usually say about traditionally bulky down winter coats!
